​How to Prepare for a Work Session


​What We Need You To Do On the Day Of the Work Session

Be home to let us inside. 
Be available during the day, whether in-person, via phone or text. 
Point out any high value items in any rooms we are working in.  We may ask you to move high value items to another room. 
Point out any dangerous items, such as sharps (needles or syringes), firearms, or medical waste. We may ask you to move dangerous items to another room. 
Review and approve any donations or discards the organizers identify during the work session. 
Be home at the end of the session for the “reveal".

Ensure a clean work environment for our organizers: 
No dirty dishes if we are working in the kitchen. We will put away clean dishes as we organize.
Dirty laundry is clearly separated or removed from the room if we are working in the bedrooms.

Litter boxes /animal waste removed from any rooms we are working in.

What to Expect

When our team arrives, we will do a quick Goal Setting session with you. We'll talk about the plan for the day, what your priorities and expectations are, and fill you in on some of the "little" details (like where we will keep our supplies, where we will put donations, etc.). You should budget for about 10-15 minutes with the team to get them started.

The team will work throughout the session according to what priorities were set.  You can check in as often, or as little, as you like to check progress. Feel free to check the discards, donations, etc. to ensure our team is meeting your expectations. 

Near the end of the session, the Team Leader will do a quick Daily Recap with you. They will tour you through the work area and explain what was completed. They will also inform you of the plan for your next work session, if applicable. This should take about 5-10 minutes of your time.

If you are not going to be home when the team leaves for the day, please give them instructions on how to lock up before they leave.
